CAUTION: Mines Rd. - Gravel (8.1.08)

FYI - was just out on Mines Rd and the road was just covered in small gravel from the turn in Livermore to the Junction (see map). The road didn't appear to have fresh tar, but the gravel was annoying.

There was a street sweeper driving around closer to the junction, but I don't know when he'll be done, or how much he'll clean things.

Nice... I'll have to go clean the road off rally style..

Last time I was out there. My friends buddy on his supermotard had a hard time keeping up.. Something about more corner speed.

I can verify this as well - I was out last weekend with a fellow i-clubber and it required a pretty soft touch. Only saw 1 bike instead of the usual traffic.
Keep it safe!

This is a very nice cruise road on a weekend! Each time I take my wife up there with me we have loads of fun up old mines rd, just cruise it all the way to SJ and hop on the freeway home. If your looking for a nice long scenic rout, takes about 1.5 -2 hours depending on your speed, and how often you pull over. Sucks its being worked on.

Different area, but I was out in Skagg's Spring yesterday and a long section is covered in new tar and tons of gravel. Quite fun once you get used all the noise
