dude you're trippin..that picture is all over the press.

These rains/floods/mudslides have been crazy.

My room mates uncle was in the one down on PCH. He was sitting on the side of the road and before he knew what happened he was pushed out into the water and had sand up to his door and water flowing everywhere. He had to crawl out one of the windows and swim to shore. 2 people were killed and a few missing last we heard. Only reason he survived is because he is an avid surfer and a strong swimmer.

I guess the applied press is going to interview him. He works for them.

so crazy. Brand new Dodge. thing was less than 6 months old.

I mean these poor people. It's terrible. First all the fires. Then the mudslides. Some places got 20 plus inches of rain in less than a week.

Don't know if any of you were driving this morning but it was pretty gnarly around here. I'm surprised more of the fremont hills haven't come down yet.

Damn Ray that's crazy. And that picture is not a photochop. It's the opening picture on my Comcast cable homepage.

And I saw the rain accumulation reports and LA got 467% of its annual rain fall in this last storm. Where as, SF, East Bay and SC have only gotten about 100% of its annual rain fall. The hills up here are used to getting a lot of rain. The hills in LA aren't.

the reason i think its fake is one, it kind of looks like a chop to me. two, i have only seen that one picture. personally a boulder 25 feet high falling onto the road is pretty cool and strange (doesn't happen very often). we have only seen that one picture. i searched a lot of different news sites and couldn't find any other pictures than the one shown.

wouldn't you think something like that someone would take more than one photo of? plus i havne't been able to find any other stories on it other than the short caption, "25 foot high boulder blocks topanga canyon road in malibu"

i would really like to see some more pictures of this thing, particularily where it fell from (aka how high up) the damage it did to the road and some other angles. some video would be even better.

until any of that i still don't believe it.

You i club guys always think the most mundane and obviously NOT CHOPPED things are chops, just because they are pretty incredible.

LOL. Its not a chop.

no i really do want to see those other pictures and stuff if its real, because that is pretty damn cool. i searched in hopes to find more photos or something but haven't been able to find any.

also i am curious as to what kind of damage it did to the roadway, why? beacuse i am a civil engineer and i design roads for my job. i am curious to see how the asphalt and stuff held up to that weight and also curious about wether it fell or rolled there. if it fell then it would have a much greater impact force and caused more damage.

You could be right, I'll admit its odd. But, i guess i can't imagine someone doing such a good chop to such a dumb thing. A big ol rock in a road. Not to toss around job duties, but i am a proffessional digital artist, and if it is a chop, its a damn good one - and a dumb one. I just dont think there is much of a motive to do somthing like this. "Teehee, i tricked all them people into thinkin a big ol rock fell induh road!".
hmmmmm...a perplexing caper indeed.
*blows on bubble pipe*

edit. The tension rose so much as i was waiting for that last "dawg". I would have been wringing my hands if the other one wasnt controlling the mouse.

PS : I heard that the only way they have figured out how to break that rock apart is to have the skorpions play on top of it. Face it, they brought down the berlin wall with one "weedleeweedlee" - this shouldnt be much for them.

i drove on topanga canyon.

my sister lives in woodland hills and once, instead of going through 405 to 101, i went on hwy 1 then cut to topanga and headed north.

like mt hamilton road but slightly wider.
