carlsen subaru and accessport?

Hey I just got an AP and was wondering if I should do a full uninstall before bringing my car into Carlsen for an oil change and "11-month" service. Not sure if just realtime flashing the stock map back on would be enough.

thanks.

I don't know anything about AP's or servicing, but can't you swap the stock map back in?

Yeah you can either "realtime" flash the stock map back on, but it still has a stage1 map hard reflashed onto the ECU. You can also completely uninstall the AP and put the stock map back on, but that's a pain in the ***, which is why I was wondering if a realtime reflash would cover it enough for the dealer not to know I had messed with it.

What's included in this "11 month service?"

Uhh... for an oil change and what I'm guessing is a 'minor service' (tire rotation, check fluids, etc.) I'd say no. I wouldn't even worry about it.

ok cool, i just wanted to check. I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of sending back the AP to cobb and all that.

thanks.

Not to be a jerk, but wouldn't changing your own oil be much easier than dealing with the ECU?

Haha yeah it would, but I guess I'd just rather have things done at the dealership for record/resale purposes. That and I got a coupon...

where do you go? 4-5 hours you got to be kidding me. When I go in for an oil change it right around an hour and when they do the oil change I get a free vehicle inspection and hey check thing I couldn't with out some nice jack stands.

Just in case anyone else is interested, I took it in today for their "minor service" done around 7500 miles. I talked to one of the guys there and they usually don't even touch the ECU until the 30000 mile check-up. So you should be fine until then.
