Car Shipping West -> East Coast, Recs?
First to apologize; I've tried searching, but i'm getting a completely blank .php page each time.
To the meat... I'm moving out east to Washington DC, and I need some way to get my car there, other than driving it personally (although I thought about it).
Was wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom to share about car-shipping experience, and any companies they might recommend...
going from san Jose to Washington DC
Danke

i have always had my car shipped through the navy and i don't know who they use but i will suggest that if you have coilovers raise the car as much as possible, put it in valet mode if you have that EM option, and when they do the walkthrough with the car make sure you look at everything they write on the paper to make sure it is correct. make copies of all your paper work ie; insurance,registration. i'll see if i can find who the navy uses, i haven't had any problems yet. personally if I had the option I would drive it myself. It is a pretty fun drive

What the guy said before me is true..
and make sure it is a covered transport.. cost a bit more but you shouldnt have to worry about rock chips, that much dirt, and bad **** happening to your car. I had to replace my front windsheild due to a chain smashing it.. luckily it was just the window and not a body panel.. (shipping company ended up paying for it)

Intercity Lines is supposed to be one of the better auto transport companies. They use (only) enclosed trailers and are/were Porsche approved. They are not a broker, so your car goes into one of their own trucks. Here's their web site;

I've used (two different) auto brokers from CA -> PA (and back), and I had a decent experience both times. My old STi arrived on schedule for both trips, and no damage (other than being dirty). Out of the two, I'd recommend JTM Logistics;
