just stop worrying about it, whats done is done, its your car, maybe it was repainted, maybe it wasn't. Your body work guy said he can't see any damage, so whats your problem? You've got a car with the body in perfect shape and "possibly" a repaint. The paint was **** to begin with anyways.

Somebody lock this sh*t

If you're lucky....... the repaint should have thicker paint than the factory paint. Should get the paint depth measured.

Why? To **** YOU off.

However, I have it on good authority that you know why my car came with a broken center console latch?

Your assuming the previous owner is a liar because you cant tell if the vehicle has factory paint or repaint? Are you kidding me? There will always be slight orange peel on factory cars unless your paying out the *** for a brand new euro car. Thats that. Subaru paint sucks and reading this thread gives me a headache.

I've seen orange peel on a brand new 911 GT3. Luckily it was orange and it fit the car nicely.

Should of bought my car! Every STi I have seen has orange peel on the lower part of the doors near the rocker panels. Other then that my car is dam near perfect on paint other then it being Subaru ultra thin paint, clearbra is your friend. I have my whole front end done, best mod you can do with a Subaru!

First of all, I edited your post by just copy and pasting what you had on NASIOC like you should have but were too lazy I guess. I'll let that slide but crap like that will make you really unpopular around here really quick.

Second, as most people already said Subaru is notorious for orange peel, you might want to get a second opinion before just assume the guy who sold you the car is a liar.
I'd be willing to bet the car was never repainted,

That bottom ripple effect serves a different purpose and is intentional.

yep, this is intentionally textured to help prevent rock chips, same thing is on every new Porsche as well.

Yeah a subaru service manager told me shortly after I discovered it that it was intentional...made sense afterwards haha....

To the OP - I had the same first thought that something had happened to the car and someone painted it crappily but it was all original
