car audio installation/advice - bay area

Hello
Just got a 04 WRX wagon, and wanted to have the audio done. I'm sorta lost as to finding someone in the bay area who can do it well, or someone who has good experience with imprezza wagons.

I'm tired of looking at yelp reviews where 50% of people say they rock and 50% say never to go there. The places I've visited thus far have been somewhat aloof or insolent, or both.

I want to get mids and tweets in the front, a good three-way in the back, and a 10" somewhere out of the way with an amp to power it all under the seat. Or something to that effect. I'd like to find a spot where they wont bend me over on the price and can give helpful advice on which speakers to get and fit my budget.

any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks.

sorry to butt into this thread, but i need help with some issues going on with my car stereo... would you happen to know why, or what would cause my stereo to start panning from left to right, and fade from front to rear, speaker to speaker... etc. its weird man, and quite annoying!! i have 6.5 polk audio/momo components in the front, 5 1/4 coaxials in the back (same type speakers), and 12in polk signature reference sub, a pioneer single din... this cause my rear passenger speaker to go out.. any thoughts on what may cause this.. maybe a grounding issue?? let me know thanks!!

A member here Daios is pretty good, granted he is not good as I , but I hear he will do installs for a mandatory donation of monetary value. I would PM him first though because I'm not sure he does this any longer. Tell him I sent you, so I can get my cut.

If you still can, go return that capacitor. Unless you just want it for show. For car audio, they're useless.

theres an argument about that on car audio forums, but I agree. Theres really no need.

Theres not too much room for our cars to get great audio. Make sure the mids are shallow enough for the doors. Theres not much room behind the panel when the windows rolls down. Skip the three ways, unless you want the surround sound feeling on your 2.1 system.

Why is it that the caps are bad? I don't want all my **** dimming whenever I hit over 1000rms each(peaks 2000rms) haha.

They're just 6.5 components all around. and I'll have spacers to make em fit.

Why does this guy keep pimping Eric out like he's running a side business? He helped you out in one occasion, now you're treating it like some sort of hook up installation that you feel the need to promote for no reason.

I got my audio job done at audiomobile at Oakland china town. I,m sure you can google them. They did very clean job. Good service as well. But I must say, they are a bit pricey. Although having that said, I will still visit them for more work in the future.

remember to get spacers for your doors so you can fit deeper speakers. Well powered components are the #1 thing for great sound imo
