You should still hire a cheap lawyer to send them some threatening letters... There are some pretty inexpensive lawyers out there.

I am going to be sending a formal email to them after work personally addressed to see what they say. Depending on their response it will determine my course of action.

So what is it that you are exactly after.........

Are you after the fact that they had poor customer service and did not follow procedure?

Or are you after getting your car fixed for free under a "warranty" claim" and not paying a cent out of your pocket?

Not worth all the hassle IMO. You guys can argue all day whether the claim should be approved or denied. If you are mechanically inclined enough to install your own headers then why not just buy the valve cover gaskets (they are like $13 each) and replace them yourself. My $.02

FWIW I just was stating a possible solution in my prior reply to possibly help out both sides. Gary's good people and does excellent work IMHO, he'd have some great insight on this to provide as well as the capability to do the repair ASAP. *GLWGIF (or whatever I typed at the time)=Good Luck With Getting It Fixed. Seriously, fix it ASAP and deal with the drama once you're set. Makes for less stress and you look like less the aggressor putting you on higher/better ground often-times.

Sorry if anybody inferred or interpreted my reply as otherwise.

Sorry to hear... I've had great experiences at Carlsen in RWC. I know its out of the way for you, but they took care of me there and would def go to them again for warranty work over Capitol or Stevens Creek. Best of luck with everything.

If that car was purchased in 2005 it's now pushing 8 years old.

115 divided by 7.5 is 15.33.

So that car has averaged about 15k miles per year of ownership. In the state of california and the bay area in general that IS low miles. Not to mention that these cars have shown a nack for running for over 250,000 miles when taken care of...

Take for example my 2004... 2 years older... 100,000 miles more. And my car sat for several months while I was recovering from knee surgery and gets driven much less now than it used to be. If I was still using it like I was a few years ago it would have 275k on it easy.

As long as the maintenance has been done, there's a warranty and the price is right... I'd buy it. Now if you're looking for a newer low mileage car you'll obviously be looking at a higher price bracket...
