Candle Problems

Does anyone know how to get a candle that's been burned till the last few cm's out of a candle holder? It's past the point of just holding it to replace.. and actually sunken into the candle holder and the candle holder's wood... Tried scrapping, but no luck thus far and don't want to scratch the wood either.

(Lent my flat to a friend for one dinner and got all 6 candle holders left in this state.. not to mention the kitchen that looks like a warzone, wax on walls, tables, counters...)

Dude, try a hair dryer or heat gun, and melt out the left over candle. After it's liquidy pour it out. I had to get wax dripping off my hard wood floor and this worked very well. GL

A low temp heat gun should not burn the wood...it didn't burn my floors. Just don't hold the heat gun too close to the wood, and you should be fine.

hold candle stick upside-down over another candle.

btw, wood does catch fire so it isn't best idea to have something like a candle inside of wood.

it's one of those artsy hand carved souvenir type candle holders that look nice and you never REALLY use and definitely never let get to this state, but my friend decided to treat it like the candles you buy and just let burn to the ground...
eh.. go figure.. if i can't salvage it maybe i'll send him to thailand and then to the maldives to buy me new sets! (on his wallet of course)

yeah, I can understand wanting to have something like that. sounds like your friend needs some education in common sense & courtesy.
