It's cool he's giving a military discount. But when you can buy a legit S202 in the $10k range. I'll pass on $30k..
And the S202 is one of my all time favs, just behind the RA-R..

My car has $35k in parts, which is more than this car does, and even I know what I would realistically get for my car, which is significantly less than even his military price.
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

What one thinks they can get and what someone will pay aren't always the same thing. Even if a car is clean and well done, that doesn't mean it will always sell for top dollar. IMO, I have my car undervalued right now for the condition it is in, but clearly people aren't willing to pay that right now.

Well, it's really frustrating trying to sell a car like this. You have spent a ton of money, and carefully priced something that's probably kind of hard to sell, and then you get people posting knowledge-free crap like all of the posts in this thread right now, except for the first one - and 04GG's.
It doesn't matter, in general, what a different car that does not compare to this one costs (like, for example a modded USDM WRX, or an S202 that you couldn't register in the states or... Waiting for the BRZ comparison to arrive...).
Seriously, how hard is it to just move on instead of throwing your $.02 in? What is the point of proclaiming that something you know nothing about is not worth the asking price? Does it make you feel better or something? I don't get it really, honestly. I see a lot of ads in the classifieds section where someone is asking, what I feel, is too much for the item. I just move on.
Not saying everyone should do what I do, but I have had things like this happen before and I don't understand it. Maybe it's just that most people have not spent a lot of money to get a car to a certain point and then tried to sell it. Seems like people like to hear themselves talk, in a way. "Pshhh that's way too much/ohh you bought X, for that money you could have bought Y.." Who cares?
I probably wouldn't have written back to you and chewed you out about it, but at the same time, maybe he's getting a ton of knowledge-free lowballs from people that have ZERO intention of even being remotely serious about the car from other places too.
What this car is worth is between the buyer and the seller. Carry on of course, but don't be surprised if people are not receptive to being told by someone who could not possibly know, what their car is worth, while they are trying to sell it.
Cheers, and happy Friday folks!!

I think the intention is right is telling someone their **** is overpriced so someone else doesnt get shafted but you could tell some people they will never get the asking price till you're blue in the face and it wont matter to them. They'll keep bumping their FS thread for 2 years. We have some of the same people in our classifieds too. I ignore it now but its so ****ing annoying to have them bump the same FS thread everyday for 6months.
Perfect example ---> FS: (For Sale) 05 STI long block - NASIOC
Trying to rip off an uneducated person and even when told multiple times his blown motor might be worthless without taking it apart, hes still set in his ways.

Don't like the price? Don't have anything nice to say? Pretty simple, just gtfo and look the other way. You don't have to buy it...... what am I saying.... you're not gonna buy it ANYWAYS! Lol This isnt the classifieds, but I wish the i-club armory enforced more rules in the classified section. Bashing on someones price gets you banned.

It all depends on how good you are.
