Can I hear your TurboXS Stealthback w/OEM muffler?
I want to get a freer flowing exhaust, but it must be very close to factory sounding. My wife would kill me if I made this car loud like my last one. I've searched around and haven't found any sound clips of this particular setup.
Anyone in the San Jose area (or near) want to let me hear their TurboXS Stealthback w/OEM muffler?
Thanks!
Rob

That set up is not even louder than stock. We have a customer that has that set up and it is almost same as OEM. Performance wise it is ****..
Find another set up and get rid of that OEM muffler...... Not worth spending all that cash on piping with OEM rear muffler. It is restricted in flow...

OEM muffler is not open design. It has buffles etc.. that resticts flow.
On the other hand it may not be so mucj of a problem if you just putting an exchaust. Maybe 5-8whp? If you go beyond that and get a new turbo etc... a free flowing axle back is a must. I had both stealthback and turbo back on my WRX and I could tell the difference between them. Also tuning is a must to get the maximum hp.

Look into a Borla Hush catback. MPJ has them in right now for $485.
They put out about 87db (stock) with a slightly deeper rumble. I'm not sure of all the specs, but I know that it gives you more HP than the stock catback w/o all the noise of a can or other catback out there.
Also, if you want to move to single tip, you can look into such catback as the Greddy Evo, MRT, or Prodrive. All of these have a few more db (~3-5), but are still under, or around the legal limit while providing the extra HP. And something cool that I've witnessed with both the Prodrive and Greddy Evo catback in person is that they aren't even noticable under normal driving conditions w/o any cats. However, when you go WOT, they both sound pretty agressive (the Greddy more so). The Greddy shoots fire ***** on Krinkov's STi, heh.
Hope that helps and that I've go my facts straight.

no no on
you are wrong in this
the stealth back is a great buy, but you need more flow than the stock muffler...

Okay...I guess it was slow going in my brain. TurboXS w/OEM muffler is a waste, but with a freer flowing muffler is a good deal. Correct? I still wouldn't mind checking out local setups if anyone wants to play show-n-tell.
Thanks!
Thanks!
