But be aware that the state ref will most likely be looking close for things like all the cats in place and goodies like that.
So if you have a non-CARB turbo back system, don't expect a silences to get you through

Yes you can use it to pass the state ref. I did it w/ my magnaflow Ti exhaust.
The state ref does not look for cats all they do is put the mic to teh ehxaust at a certain distance and check the decibles, but it is recommended to have you cats in, so it will lower the decibles down.
Hey and all of you who is trying to give advise, if you never had first hands experience w/ the state ref, maybe its best if you didnt say anything. i mean where are some of you getting information from. Sorri i dont mean to be harsh but some of the information that some of you presented is not true

All we did was take off his FMIC and replace it with a TMIC.
Put the stock TBE exhuast back on and he took it away.
Still kept his fuel pump and tune
Passed with flying colors.
Maybe it's Sac I dunno but he had no problem. (yes he was scared ****less)

I was not able to use my silencer when I did my Civic SI, and they did not check for cats and what not, my car barely passed you have a +/- .3 db range in order to pass I was .2 over the limit but within the allowable limit to pass with
