Can anyone who knows modding civics answer this Q?
I notice looking at civics from behind a lot of them have this big bar across the back underbody. I was assuming that's a swaybar - it's HUGE though, like a structural brace lol. And then when I google for civic rear swaybars they don't look like this.
So I'm just really curious - what is this thing and what does it do?

It's called a tie bar.
I had the comptech rear sway bar/tie bar combo when I had my civic.
Strengthens the rear end up/stiffens and gives the sway bar a better mounting point.
a lot of people run the dc one (which sucks) or the skunk 2 or Neuspeed units. Just the tie bar.
The strait up tie bar... like the skunk 2 unit is designed to stiffen up the rear end and keep the rear control arms from pushing in. Helps maintain rear camber and contact patch. Good mod.

Besides good stiffening and reinforcement of where the sway bar brackets mount too, they are also a cheap mod that's easy so many people do it. The expensive versions typically work better though.
It's also subtle enough that mostly only car enthusiasts will even notice.

the DC one seemed crappy, but with the preload adjustment, I can't really imagine that a super expensive type would be worth the money. Seems like you can just load it so there is already a lot of tension.
Haha, wrong car, wrong end of car
What brand subframe is that anyways?
You need one of these gems...

Toss on a beefy front sway and some more stout lower control arms. Some decent camber kits and you can make a civic handle like crazy. I SMOKED a lot of cars on my canyon runs and constant drives over highway 17. It handled better than my wagon and I've got some good suspension on my wagon.
Of course I'm still trying to relearn my corner entry braking with the new sway set up.

Thats from a old company that was called rpm. They scammed allot of people. Then ran with peoples money, I picked this one up last month. Going to make a few extras if anyone would like one.
