Can anyone mount my Rifle's Scope?

Wondering if anyone in the East-Bay (925) area, or somewhere not too far from, can give me a hand mounting my new scope on my rifle. I know there are special techniques on how to get it level, eye relief, and a few other things that I dont have the slightest idea about how to do. This is my first rifle, its a Remington 700 XCR long range Tact. in .308 The scope i picked out is a Vortex Viper PST, 50mm lens, 30mm tube. I just got some Seekins precision rings and a SP base as well.

If anyone could lend me a hand, or point me in the direction of someone tha would be appreciated!

Found a good video, you should be able to do it yourself. With a few basic hand tools.

There are lots of videos on youtube on the subject. Watch a few and you should be able to figure it out.

You should probably make a stand like in the video, makes it easy for cleaning and stuff.

In high school auto we where building the shop's drag car motor and the guy reading us the torque specs was telling us ft/lb when it should have been inch/lb

Soooo many broken studs. Should have known after the first snap but I was a kid and why did we keep putting them in after we broke one. Man I was dumb.

Use blue Loctite on all the mounting screws. I also use a paint pen to make witness marks on the scope mount.

Just know - no matter how well you bore-sight the scope, you're gonna have to fine tune at the range.

What is a laser bore sighter used for?? I thought you just take the bolt out and look the the bore to get it close'ish?

**I could google it, but since you brought it up I figured I would ask?

Thanks for all the good info guys!

You load a laser pointer shaped like a cartridge into the chamber of your weapon and then try to align the crosshairs of your scope on the projected dot at a given distance. Takes some, not all, of the drudgery out of sighting in a scoped weapon.
