I've used the cordless passport model and never experienced such a problem in the WRX even on a long road trip plus WOT. It gets alerts a lot going past junk food drive-thrus, but usually if the detector starts blasting an alarm in your face there's a cop about 1/2 a mile down the road. This radar detector is spot-on accurate when there's a cop waiting to pounce!

Mine was wonderful and accurate and helpful for the first 10 months I owned it, and I only got two laser false alarms in that time. It'll be a year old in December, and I'm trying to hunt down the receipt ASAP so I can send it in to be fixed if need be. I'm going to call them on Monday to see what they say about it. It's been getting worse over the last few weeks, I've been getting lasered in my school parking lot on a regular basis. I hope they can fix it, it's driving me insane.
