bye baic, and anyone want to buy a nanoreef tank?

Hey guys, to make a long story short I took a job in San Diego, and the movers are coming on Wed or Thursday to take all of our stuff. It's been fun, and I'll certainly stop in from time to time to make fun of noobs or pick a fight with Zoeb or post my fake sig to make Imprezer mad.

I have a 13g nano-reef tank that is insanely well established, and I don't really think I can move it without sustaining mass casualties. I mean I could, but it's not worth the hassle at this point.

The tank has the following:

CPR MRT "Micro-Reef-Tank", with completely self enclosed overflow/skimmer/heater/return pump in the sump. You can read about the tank here: http://www.cpraquatic.com/support/sup-mrt.html, and here is a pic of something similar (but inferior, since it's a remake of the tank I have) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...345366620&rd=1

There is a black stand for the thing too, which is very functional and strong but I built it with 2x4's and black paint, so it's not necessarily the prettiest thing ever made.

I also have a CustomSeaLife lighting hood for it, which contains 2 almost new 28W power compact fluorescent lights (one white, one actinic). This thing pumps out an excellent amount of light for the tank and supports coral and anemone growth no problem.

The tank has been established for 5+ years and everything is very healthy. The tank has 2-3" of live sand, ~10-12 pounds of nice live rock. There are countless blue hermits, and astrea snails, along with a huge brittle star that work the cleanup crew. The only fish is a percula clown that is really healthy. The tank also has ~7-10 bubble tip anemones, that keep dividing like clockwork.

Anyway, it breaks my heart to sell this, but I can't stomach moving it to San Diego. I want to sell this to someone who knows reef tanks, so if you know someone, please forward this ad to them. They'll know the price is a steal.

$400 takes it all. I'm in Mountain View, and very eager to sell.

-=Eric

I see. Post a for sale add at the end of a good-bye post. This allows you to get your sale add in the main forum of the BAIC without someone moving to the classifieds where it belongs. Very sly. What part of San Diego are you moving to? My parents moved just north of San Diego about a year ago. It's a beautiful place. I'll miss you!

lol no flaming me. hahaha. I didn't even do it consciously.

The company is in Carlsbad (~25mi north of SD), and I have no idea where we'll end up buying a home. I'm looking everywhere from Escondido/Vista/Rancho Bernardo, as far away as Temecula. We'll be in corporate housing next week until we find a house.

I'll miss the bay and the Subie community, but career/family was calling. Maybe we'll be back someday when I'm a millionaire and can actually afford to buy a decent place here.

Sweet dude! The hills above Carlsbad is where they live! That area is freaking nice! I wouldn't reccomend Escondido, as it can ne a bit ghetto (think Pitt. style.) San Marcos is much nicer, noth too much more expensive, and right next door to Carlsbad. Temecula is nice, but is a bit of a drive. Man I wish I was moving down there. I love that area. You'll have to give me your adress once you're settled so I can throw an egg at your place the next time I visit my rents.

I know you're married and all, but you are gonna love the eyecandy. I reccomend going down to the outdoor Carlsbad outlet mall as many weekends as possible.

Oh yeah, if your ever working on your car and need a hand let me know and I'll make a trip to my rents and kill two birdds with one stone.

Hey Marc...thanks for the good wishes, I haven't forgotten about you either. It's all about the right time.

And Chris...thanks for hte info about the area. I'm born and raised in LA, so I definitely know that SoCalBooty > TheRestofCalBooty. I will definitely let you know where we end up.

Good luck down in San Diego Eric.

My girlfriend and I went down there in March to look around and see how it was for a future move. We didn't like it. Too much attitude down there. Hope you like more than we did.

I'm really a recluse and rather boring, I just talk alot online. I would love to make it to hammy, as long as there is a guaranteed plate of food for me if I'm going to drive 7 hours up here. lol

Karl, thanks for the message...we didn't really have a "choice" per se, but I like SoCal so I probably have that bad attitude as well. lol. But we' won't be in SD proper which I've heard is quite snobbish. Good luck with the SRT-4 beind so much fast4r....I want to see a bigger turbo and some serious mods soon!

stimul8n, I will be happy to take more tonight, but here's an old one:

...and two MPG's of the life in the tank, I forgot to mention there is a crapload of Red Sea Pulsing Xenia:

If you're serious, you can come by tonight or tomrrow and take a look at it.

good luck down south and thanks for the advice. Though the questions were few, your advice and experience was much appreicated.

I may be making my way down south as well, but to the LA area.

Sad to see another old name leave the Suby community...goodluck with the new job, Eric.

So besides the live rocks, there are no corals in the setup? I used to have a thriving 5gal micro-reef setup, but that went to hell the moment I left for a summer internship.
