Bugeye ('03) Foglight - How to replace?

So, one of my fog lights went out a few weeks ago, and I'm looking to replace the bulbs. I have a few questions

I've read that there are 4 screws in the fog light housing, 3 of which actually hold in the bulb, correct? Can these just be accessed from the front? Do I need an extra long screwdriver or will a standard one work?

I think the bulb size is H3, right? Does it matter what voltage, etc?

I was thinking about just going to an Autozone or Kragen (in San Mateo, if that makes a difference) and picking out a pair that they had in stock. Any recommendations? How much should I be looking to spend?

Any other tips you guys could offer?

I'm pretty sure you just remove the three screws from the corners around the fog light and then you can pull it out.

Tada! It's been a while since I've used the service manual.

Just go in to either place you mentioned and tell them the make/model/year of your car and what bulb you are replacing. They should be able to pull it up

Get the Narva Rangepower+50 or the CPI Gold (selective yellows) from Daniel Stern Lighting. I have been running on the same selective yellows for YEARS.

Depends how much money you want to spend. You can go get a ****ty bulb from Auto Zone/Pep Boys/Walmart or you can get them from RallyLights.com/Susquehanna Motorsports, the bulb is not expensive but you have to pay shipping. The upside is that it is a Hella bulb. Either way, I'd replace the bulb on both sides.

RallyLights.com/Susquehanna: http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=253, I'm not sure of the wattage though, so you'll have to look at the bulb currently in the lamp.

FWIW, when one of my stock bulbs went out, I used it as an excuse to get Hella lamps.

I've been thinking of getting those CPI gold bulbs recently. Any pics of them on your car? I hear it's a pain to crack open the fog light to put them in.

OP, the bulbs are H3 55w I believe. Maybe you can buy my used bulbs so I can get CPI golds? haha

No, no pics, sorry. It's just the edges that are yellow. Doesn't look as cool as the yellow film I see a lot of people putting on their fogs, but it works really well.

What did you mean by crack open the fog light? Don't you just remove the housing and stick them in per the instructions above?

Thanks guys - I am contacting Daniel Stern regarding the lights - hopefully he'll be able to recommend me something - either the CPI golds or the Narva Rangepower+50's.

yea I'm not a big fan of the yellow film during the day, but I'd like the yellow light. That's why I'm going with yellow bulbs.

I'm actually not sure. I thought I read somewhere that there's more screws in the back and people were breaking the screws/tabs cuz of old age. But again, I could be totally wrong. Maybe ryball can chime in since he's changed them before.

edit: looks like SC has the right info on it. sweet. I'll be ordering my gold bulbs soon from Daniel Stern too.

That was a million years ago. I don't remember it being terribly difficult.
