Bringing My Telescope To UCKK Tonight...

I have a 10" Newtonian Reflector, with some nice eyepieces, and filters... Mars is going to rise around 8:00pm... best viewing time will be around 10:15 (for the UCKK'ers, anyhow). I'll bust it out at around 9:30, or whenever we get a good view of Mars. If you have a step stool, bring it... cuz sometimes I can barely see through the eyepiece, and if you haven't seen me, I'm really tall. (6'6"!).

So yeah... telecope tonight.

Are you kidding? Have you looked up (at night) recently? Mars is bright!

Hmm, I may have to show up now . . .

No, sorry. We're leaving for vacation (finally!) on Saturday, and it's sort of a self guided archeological vacation . . . I spent the entire evening programing my GPS. (And looking at Mars through binoculars.)

I'll try to make it when I get back in 2 weeks!

Yeah, WAAAY too much smog to be able to see anything good...

2 Problems.

1. Mars was low on the horizon
2. Mt Hamilton Fire caused a LOT of haze, and denied us a good view.

Yeah, that was unfortunate, way too many things conspired to keep us from getting a good show. Thanks for taking all the time to lug out the scope and set it up, though! This kind of stuff keeps UCKK interesting
