Thanks man, I appreciate it. I talked to demonpossessed, so I'm probably going to meet up with him later. Hey Mods, feel free to lock and dumpster this thread.

I got you dinner at The Cardinal. Another time I got you Iguanas after I snagged one of your waters without asking, so my bad. At least I can recognize and admit my faults. But whatever.

FWIW, a container of brake fluid that has been open for a while will have a natural tendency to absorb water, lastly mixing brake fluids, to my knowledge, is a no no.

You can mix DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids. The difference between them is boiling point.

You are correct about open containers, though. If it's been sitting toss it out and grab an unopened one. Brake fluid is hygroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture right out of thin air. This lowers the boiling point and reduces the efficiency of brake fluid. If you need to add some and can afford the $5 for a new pint then go that way. If not, well... you'll probably be fine just topping it off.

Thanks for the input guys, Demonpossessed was nice enough to help me out yesterday and explained the same things about brake fluid - which I did not know. Thanks for the input and +100000 for Demonpossessed for being an outstanding guy.
