Brake Comparisons

Since there's like... zero traffic going through the brake forums... and there's a lot more here, I'm gonna put this here. Hopefully I'll get some responses. TIA

I'm running Endless CC-X pads on brembo's and they really do bite. They also have a good temp range and work well when cold. Only downside is they are somewhat noisy and dust a fair amount.

Brembo now makes high performance pads for the STi. Knowing the quality and reputation of Brembo, I'm willing to bet they're good pads. Might be worthing checking out. I have more info if you're interested. If you want them to last longer you could also cryo them.... I also have info on that if interested.

Hawk HPS are decent street pads, maybe not enough bite for hardcore users.

Hawk also makes HP Plus pads, and they should work well under hard use.

Combine pad upgrades with stainless braided lines and good fluid (Motul 600) for best results.

Get the Ferodo DS2500 pads. great for street and track. Do some research on Ferodo and you will find out why these pads have been one of the best semi-street/race pads for stock Brembo brakepad replacements. EVO guys love them and so should you.

ps. they share the same part number(s). You can find these pads at Gruppe-S

Something to mention regarding the Ferodo DS2500 which incidently are a great pad is that although they fit the STI they are designed for a smaller width rotor (EVO) so when being used on the front of a STI you will need to loose one of the backing plates or they will bind due to the larger width rotor.

I am currently in the process of installing the StopTech BBK on my 03, with Axxis Ultimate Pads and Motul RBF600 fluid, and StopTech rear slotted rotors, stainless lines, and StopTech Rear Street Performance pads....I havent finished the install yet, so I cant tell you how well this setup works...but I will keep y'all posted.

Had StopTech BBK with Pagid Orange in the Fronts and Axxis Ultimate in the rear ... I was very happy with that setup. You will most likely be tire limited. I use to have Axxis Ultimates in the fronts, but I was cracking the pads after the first session of a track day.

Brembo (on the Evo, yeah, sorry for posting here) ... with Ferrodo DS3000, very nice track pad, squeaky as hell ... I mean, you'll see people on the street flinching next to you. I do sand a slight 45 deg angle on each of the pad's corners and its not making a sound anymore.

damn I wish Performance Friction made pads for Subarus, I had great results with their Z-rated Carbon Metallic Pads on my old BMW.
