Talking  to Subaru

I had a family emergency today and had to drive up to Auburn to pick up my younger sister at the hospital. After getting there, I found out there had been a major accident on hwy 49 and the ambulance taking my sis to the hospital in Auburn had to turn around and go way up to Grass Valley ... where it was snowing.

So I trekked on up there, still rolling on my Dunlop FM901 225/45/17s, feeling a little uneasy about how this will work. I've driven in the snow once, 5 years ago and these are definitely not the tires for it.

Once I got to GV, there was a bit of snow on the roads, but it was easy to maneuver. Then I had to pull in to a parking lot where there was between 2 and 3 inches of snow that had been rained on so it was snow/ice/slush. FUN. So I pull in, crunch right on through the snow in to AutoZone for directions.

I walk in and a guy says "How do you like your WRX?". We talked - turns out he drives an SVX. Real nice guy - he gave me perfect directions.

So, AWD rocks..I'd never really gotten to test it out. Subaru drivers rock..the guy I met was real friendly and helpful.

And my sister is ok

AWD is a lifesaver when you need it. Every day I go out driving (especially when it storms in Tahoe), I fall in love with it more and more.

EDIT: lol, I didn't even look at the username when I originally posted this response... glad to hear your sister is okay Matt. Now, you just need to come and visit (and drive in the snow more).
