Boost Controller Bluez

I am on wastegate boost now I bought a used AVCR that had been installed by a dolt. I knew it might have issues. My buddy installed it up so clean and tuned it awesome! It was working for like 1 day. Now I just get wastegate boost with it on or off. All lines are new and in tact. I even went as far to take every hose off and inspect it for a split. Replugged all connections. It's toast. It still acts like its working in the form of the screen displying info and the settings are there. Just no boost control.

I am going to try and send it in to be fixed. Question is should I put a mbc in and set it at like 18.5lbs and leave it until my unit is fixed (prolly like 2-3 months). Or does something like the Perrin Boost Control Solenoid work if I replace the suspected broken Apexi solenoid?

It just sucks as the car felt SO nice with the EBC set. I was amazed at what proper boost felt like. The only issue was we couldn't get that ****ty turbos wastegate to handle fifth gear boost so even @ -50% it would still see too much in 5th and I had to feather the throttle. Not really a big deal as we all know the VF39 sucks.

Anyways my n00b *** is learning a lot about my boost system now since stuff is going wrong so with every bad there is good I guess.

Cliffs

AVCR bought used is malfunctioning. Want to send in for repair. Should I replace with a mbc or just try and replace the suspected broken solenoid with a Perrin one?

Just called the local "performance" shop and they have 1 mbc in stock. It is a 2-stage TurboXS. I asked how much and they told me $379!!!! I looked at the site (turboxs.com) and they say the most expensive one (the high perf 2-stage) retails for $269. So yeah, I am not gonna pay $110 over RETAIL! Gawd I h8 slumboldt......................

So I call Arcata Autosports back. I kindly tell them I think I was quoted a wrong price on a boost controller. I let them know nicely what TurboXS was listing them for. So he comes back after checking the website to verify the price and tells me he can sell it to me for the retial of $269 plus $20 shipping. UI asked why I had to pay $20 shipping for an in stock item. He said they had to ship it there. I told him all stores have to ship parts in as they are not manufacturers. WTF!!!! I fawking h8 this place, it's offcial.

Got in fingered out (big thanks to blinguskahn). Took boost control back to stock and unplugged the Apexi soleniod. Apexi told me to blow into the vaccum lines and if the solenoid didn't click it was dead. Well it is dead. So now I am on the phone tying to get one drop shipped by Friday. Wish me luck. HAHAHA.

I did learn a ton about my boost system and I feel a lot better knowing how to install/uninstall and boost controller. I am pretty much a F/I n00b but I love learning about this stuff. I think I am going to spend more time looking up car ish and less time talking ish hahaha.

meh, just ordered the replacement solenoid. I like the fancy screen with the Apexi. Shiny stuff with blinkies does it for me

Want to thank Mioke for directing me to Mark Chen who directed me to Romi w/ Dynamaic Autosports who is making sure the part gets here by thurs! Woot for a cool suby community.
