Our last 6-series 'sperience was in 1989 in the 635CSi with the 3.5-liter six-cylinder. Chris Bangle -- he of the 7-Series trunk lid and latest 5-Series headlamps -- created this reincarnation of the high-end sport coupe. There's still that trunk lid to contend with, but the headlights look more correct -- as on the new Z4. The 4.4-liter V8 in the 645Ci -- pulled from the 745Li -- will make sweet music and we can't wait for the chance prior to its April '04 on-sale date. 328 hp with a 5.6-second 0-60 mph time won't hurt but the $69,000 might.

Eh...not too keen on the looks. I'm sure the engine is nice and smooth though. And $69,000

 

I really don't like the direction BMW is going with it's looks...cars are getting nasty.

But the performance side or them is getting more and more impressive.

 

i dunno, i don't think it looks that bad. i really like the style of the last generation five series, but this isn't as bad as the new Z4.

the z4 is ok too but the trunk on the rest of them is kinda UGLY

 

whats the deal with their trunk designs now a days?

 

in that one side pic it kinda looks like a 911 with a HUGE WING

The only thing I like about the Z4 is the rear end. The front is HEINOUS! I just saw my first new 5 series while in Hawaii and I still haven't decided whether or not I like it.
