BMW 1 Series und Autobahn
Rented a 1 Series while in Dresden and Munich last week. Thought I'd share some pics since the 1 Series will be coming over here soon. Sorry for the darkness of the pics...thought I'd have more time to take pics, but ran out.
As expected, the car had superb crisp handling...a huge difference from my wagon. But the engine was underpowered...of course that situation will be changed when they bring it over here with the inline 6. My rental had the 4 cylinder though. It was a bit weak off the line, but I had no troubles hitting 110 mph on the autobahn. But it was so light, compared to my wagon at that speed, it felt kinda "floaty", whereas my wagon felt it was hunkered down to the ground.
Interior was nice, but not luxury car nice. No cupholders...WTF!

Coworker's car
Coworkers Alfa. Beautiful car with beautiful interior, but drove like a boat. Surprising for a fairly small car.

A LOT of M series, AMG, RS4's, Porsche, and even Lambo passed me (no pics...not fast enough with the camera) on the highway but what surprised me was this tiny Opel passed me while I was at about 110mph on the A9. I'm guessing he was at about 130 mph. Impressive for a car about 2/3rds the size of the already small 1 series.
Also, this AudiTT blew by me like I was standing still. Didn't even know TT's were capable of it.
