I dont mind so much other drivers on my road, as long as they are courteous and pull over when someone needs to pass them.

Its the bicyclists that cause all the problems, they're always in the middle of the road b/c they ride side by side like the road is their own personal biking trail, instead of a single file line like they're supposed to. These bicyclists forget that people actually live up there and have to commute these roads every day to get to work; and they dont want to have to go 5mph just because they're worried some idiot bicyclist is lazily peddling in the middle of the road, talking on their cell phone (happens all the time), and eating a powerbar.

well then you get a stickar! haha

yeah i hate cyclists, if a road is sooo steep that you have to zig zag in first gear in order to make it without stoping, then your on the wrong road, or man up and ride straight up it.

People actually cycle UP **** ***** Rd. above Lexington reservoir! F***** idiots its like a 40% grade with blind corners of brush, ive almost hit a few, and always yell at them. one rider caused a train of cars up a hill for a few minutes going 3 mph.

Don't blame the cyclist, blame the idiot drivers who don't know how to pass properly.

True, the cars unwilling to pass a cyclist even when theres plenty of space to do so are a large part of the traffic issue on some of these less traveled roads; but the much bigger issue, is the cyclists who are placing themselves in harms way by being discourteous to other vehicles on the road because they feel they have some kind of right to be road hog. When cycling in a group, if you are not riding in a single file line on the edge of the road, then you are an irresponsible cyclist, and I have no pity for you when you get the bajeasus scared out your earhole when someone drives close to you at a speed you are uncomfortable with.

I think the moral of the story is people have a false sense of entitlement on both sides (cars and cyclists), which they feel allows them to be discourteous to others on the road. Its gets really ugly on these small mountain roads, the locals get really fed up with these yups getting in their full lance armstrong cycling gear and playing tour de f**kface in the middle of their daily commute.

The truth of the matter is that cyclist are not being discourteous, and are not putting themselves in harms way. In fact, by the cyclist riding on the side of the road, they are being courteous. It is the LAW, that cyclist may use any road, just as vehicles can in the United States. So really they could ride down the middle of the lane and other motorist would have to treat them as a slow moving automobile.

I'm in no way encouraging this behavor, but it is just something that we/motorist are going to have to deal with. I think you guys are just angry with cyclist because your all to lazy to get on a bike yourself and get some exercise

exercise is not the issue, and that elitist attitude cyclist have just because they 're masterbating their leg muscles is even more annoying than their stupid getup. Oh yeah, and their hobby is carbon neutral to boot, which apparently gives them even more moral highground on which to roll around on and fithify their stupid faces on each others chubhole. Try a real sport like surfing, better yet dont, we dont want you anywhere near us.

true cyclists can legally ride in the middle of the lane, but that does make them discurteous. legally discurteous if you want.

haha, someone has a stick up their ***. Don't get angry towards me, I'm just pointing out the truth

And yes, the elitist cyclist annoy me too. But there are MANY, MANY regular down to earth guys and gals that ride bikes on the weekend for exercise. Unfortunately, there are those elitist in every single sport/hobby/activity and we are never going to be without them. And really, if bicyclist annoy you that much while your driving on your mountain road, then you are probably driving too fast anyways. Take your speed to the track, take your scenic routes to the hills fella's.

ha it's actually kind of funny seeing the argument from both sides. It's hard to choose which side you agree with, but I tend to usually be in the middle. **** elitist on bikes, mountain and road. They're *******s to everyone and think they are the ****. But the same goes for when your on a bike, and you see some elitist ***** in his fancy Porsche or Mercedes. We all say the same thing to either situation, "Look at that ****ing *****, get off the road!".

But really, if the bikers are in single file, staying near the edge of the road and you still get startled and flustered when you come up behind one, then you are driving to fast. If you are stuck behind single file bikes, and they are keeping you back. Well then you just need to learn how to drive and properly pass.

However, this is a two way road and requires work from both parties. Bicyclist also need to change some of there riding habits. Feel free to use as much of the lane as you need, but when you hear/see a car coming from behind you, you need to move over. If bicyclist do that, and respect the laws then motorist have absolutely nothing to complain about.

Like I said, if you feel the need to go that fast, go to the track.
