Blown VR6 motor, need help. (VW peeps chime in!)

Well, I know there are a lot of people on here with knowledge on VW's...I have about none..so where would a good place to replace a motor? I'm looking for a reputable place that's fair in price as well.

The vehicle: 2001 VW Jetta VR6

Any input is appreciated!

TIA,
Ben

First of all, sorry to hear you drive a Volkswagen.

But yeah, pretty much any machine shop should be able to rebuild the motor for you.

Do you have the 12 valve? I have an engineer buddy at work that just built a new bottom end 3.0 liter!

If you have the 12 valve, I can see what he wants for it. He just sold his for a new car & still has the short block.

All professionally machined. New pistons...the works.
