umm, Im guessing because they're big enough to run in NASCAR now, so why bother with WRC. Remember, even though its big for us, all racing is to a car manufacturer is money spent on advertising, find me one American that can name any WRC driver and I'll show you 100 that can name at least 3 NASCAR drivers, no it doenst make me happy either

Word, I'm also confused on why there is no American company (it's the Ford uk division) that's in the WRC- It have World as the first word and the biggest automotive superpower is not even playing. F1 too. what gives?

Everyone, American or other wise knows that other then the vette, scratch that, Z06, and the viper I mean SRT-10, America can't make a good car,I partly blame the Nascar world. Yet, nothing changes.

Every time I watch Top/5th Gear I hate being American just a little bit more.

More than likely yes. My 2 friends are 6'4" and 6'7" and they fit perfectly in an elise (I'm not sure about an exige.) But you can get an elise for around 30k with under 10k miles and still have warranty and I think thats a damn good bargin!
Personally I'd rather have the exige

I feel the same way. The more I watch top gear/5th gear I somewhat hate being american as well ESPECIALLY the 3rd episode of top gear where they go to american and have to deal with the south and almost get attacked by a bunch of inbred rejects.

Nascar is terrible but I would have to disagree with the negative sentiment towards being American.

I see Nascar as simply a different culture, and with different cultures comes different tastes. If you look at the past three decades of American muscle, you will see it is just that, muscle cars designed to go straight.

Now, there is nothing wrong with wanting a car to go straight quickly, its just not our cup of tea, and thus we are separated from that culture. Although I see on these boards that the AWD platform is used in justification for launching well rather than handling well, so most of you are within the bounds of the "muscle car" culture more than you would think. Even though you are separated on ethnic lines from those dumb hicks, you still are going straight :P
