Sucks man, but its just too typical with the turbo EJ's. They should make it a 30/60/90k service to replace shortblock, at least folks would know what they were getting into from the jump.

I dunno man. if you take care of your motor, it wont blow. Ive had 4 subaru engines and non of them have blown, only one had to be replaced at one point because the dealer installed my oil pump incorrectly (warranty stuff), other than that, I push hard on my cars and they always give me what I need *taps vein*

Agreed. I drive the **** out of my stock Ej255 with 75k with a vf-39, my built Ej257 with a 30r, and my stock 130k NA EJ22 and they all run flawlessly.

Then again, I put oil in them, avoid over-revving and over-boosting, and fix **** when it is not working. I also get the best tuning available, and don't push a motor that has ANY issue.

Yep. I've stopped modding and focused on maintenance. It's a full time job!

114k and still on my stock clutch ftw!
