I was going to get one but I was steered away by my service provider cause they have a problem with reception (in the Monterey Bay area anyway)....Might be better for metro areas...

failed.

I had the blackberry. If you're going to use it for email and a phone, then go for it.
Right now I have a PPC6700 from sprint. Love the phone. It's got internet, video and pda features.

I haven't used it but I did play around with the new version of the blackberry at the verizon store for a little while. It seemed a lot better than the older model. I liked it a lot but have no use for it, hence the reason I didn't get one.

BB has push email vs pull email meaning when you receive an email it gets sent directly to your BB.

BB has a bigger keyboard than Ipaq - I'm refering to BB 7290/8700

Ipaq has more flexability in terms of 3rd party applications and more multimedia functions

If your the person that gets a ton of emails a day than I'd recommend BB

If your the person that likes having an all in one device plays mp3s,camera,internet @ a bit faster than dial up speeds then go with the Ipaq

Keep in mind the more stuff you have on your phone the less battery life youll get

Either way let me know if your interested in either of the devices I manage a Cingular store and am not shy to give the good ol I-club discount.....

There is a reason they are often referred to as Crackberries. Once you get one, you can't put it down. It is a messaging device first, phone second, but the phone isn't bad. If you get a lot of email, and you need to respond to them quickly, you can't go wrong with a BB.

another BB Theory is that if you get tons of emails/sms you'll save an hour of your day just by owning a BB with the convience of replying via email/sms right then and there.

I admit I'm a Crackberry simply because i use it to its potential!

I used a 7100t for about a year and loved it. i didn't use it as a phone, e-mail only.
i found it to be alot faster and simpler than other smart phones like the treos where it felt more like a PC than a phone. the smaller keyboard didnt bother me compared to the full sized keyboards found on other BB models. some people didnt like it but you get used to it.
if you are constantly recieving e-mails and need to reply quickly it's a great device.

I have had a BB since January. I will have to check the model, but it's the newest before the latest one which looks more updated and square. It has the colour screen. Previously I had a Nokia 6820 which I loved. I hated the BB when I first used it because doing everything with the wheel was irritating, and not being able to simply press a button to end a call seemed stupid (you have to hold the ESC button for a few sec). I am liking it more and more though (except for the size) and I have to say it's withstood a few major drops pretty well. I would recommend checking out O'Reilly's "Blackberry Hacks" book if you get one.

What I really want is a Nokia E70, but I am not sure if it will give me what I need for work...

I purchased a Blackberry 7520 in december and i love it. I can check and respond to my business email account on the run. Its great for business travelers. Plus its got the 2 way radio thats a plus. Surfing the web is awesome and it has a great keypad. You can even enterprise network it to your business network.
