Black out Borla Hush - Yay or Nay

So with the increase in people being pulled over for modified exhausts and tints I was wondering if I should black out my borla hush. I do have extensive engine mods so if I get the reff ill be f'ed. Would blacking out my borla hush make it more suspcious for officers? Any input is appreciated TIA

I just painted the flat part the tips are welded to. Its really the only thing that draws attention. (the tips turn black on their own )

Up to you broham, I would just for the hell of it. I would suggest using High Temp Flat Black it will not turn brown unlike regualr paint does. Buy yourself some plastic roll for painting and some masking tape and spray away. Or take off exhaust.axleback and spray it that way. I did my XR-1 on the car with plastic and tape. Make the XR-1 look just like stock, and or the RS*R Ex-Mag

Good luck,

-Gio

I think it'd make it more suspicious. I've had officers look at my car stem to stern and not want to pop the hood on Borla Hush/Helix DP setup (yet)...(knock on wood)...(if theres a god in heaven)...(hey kharma deities, rememeber on Sat nite when I found that debit card in the atm machine and called it into the bank immediately).

I don't know, that's kind of hard to say. How many cars do you typically see with blacked out tips/mufflers/pipes etc.? And of that number, how many are tuners/imports/whatever you want to call them? If blacking out pipes becomes more common, it'll definitely attract attention. I'd lean more to the blacked-out is more suspicious side of the argument.

the borla hush is twin tip, so it looks pretty much identical to stock. you shouldn't have any problems =)

Here is how mine looks...I see the point about looking too obvious about hiding something, but going to UCKK this past Tuesday I had 3 CHPs drive past me without giving me a second look plus nothing was said about it during a spot about 2 months ago when a cop asked me to pop my hood (but that was before my upgraded turbo went in)...KNOCK ON WOOD

how about flat/dull silver? itll be less suspect to cops who target imports... the smart ones that like to go after the blackout mufflers and super polished pipes

That's why you spray the whoooooole thing black...My "excuse" has been that the car is originally from Midwest (which is true), so the stock piping was coated again rust (those winters are brutal)

I say dddooooooo eeeetttttt
