someone point me in the right direction for a netbook

 

MSI Wind, Samsung NC10... HP came out with a decent one. Regular 15.6" notebooks are coming out les than 500 too, so that might be a great option.

If you're interested in performance, netbooks aren't really the way to go. I'd just make my own computer sub 800 bux. I haven't researched netbooks in over 6 months, so i'd suggest reading some reviews on amazon, and on as many sites as possible before you make your decision...

I still like the Samsung NC10 and that would be my choice if I was going to purchase another netbook... but considering having a Macbook Pro, I might just end up rebuilding another PC and give windows 7 a shot.

Great site for real tested benchmarks, and building ideas. Love this site since I was in high school (wow that would be 10 yrs ago since I was a freshman... I'm old) but it's a great site and I'd follow any of their computer builds sub $1,000. =P

 

just need something to take to school and do the regular internet browsing, nothing to special

Any netbook will do. I would look for ones with HD, not SSDs. Also, a webcam, and 6+ cell batteries.

I'm waiting for the new ones to come out that will have graphics, and memory on die, so that the speed and power consumption will be better. But even current ones runnin the N280 Atom are pretty good.
