It might be accumulated road grit from the recent rains. Is it goooey? or just dirty?
I hope you're using good car wash soap and a thick sheep skin wash mitt. It will help from rubbing the grit back into your paint.
Let me know if you need help here, you know where I live so feel free. I'm real **** about my paint finish and I have a ritual about car washing in two seperate buckets. One for soap and the other to rinse the mitt.

it feels like it was gooey at one point. when i scraped it off with my nails it was still soft. its on the sideskirts right under where the two doors are hinged. i think ill use two buckets next time. it sounds like a great idea
The two buckets idea is good if you stick with it, I get lazy towards the end of the washing and then rinse the mitt back with the soapy water. Oh well. At least it keeps the soapy water cleaner for most of your wash. I look at the bottom of the bucket sometimes and amazes me how much dirt and grit accumulates there when I empty the remaining soap.

Well if any one else has experienced this... I never have seen this before.
Last time I saw black goo dripping on a car body was when aftermarket rustproofing was done to cars. Over time, the chemical would melt and start dripping from doors and stuff. I don't think they still do aftermarket rustproofing nowadays

Yea it's just dirt and grime. An easy way to get that **** off is a MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASER. Take that stuff and anything else off in a snap. Cleans wheels real nice too.
