My brothers birthday is coming up in August and I want to do something funny to him. I am looking for used gift cards that have zero balance on them. If you have any, please pm me and I will give you my address. I am looking to get 10 or more. But I will get one card and add a balance of $100 on it for him.

just go to any store that you want and take them
they are worth nothing until you load it and it's not stealing since it's a ZERO value item
like taking a napkin from a restaurant

You should just give him a bunch of cards to stores that are out of business... Borders Books, Virgin Megastore, Circuit City

 

Uhh, make sure he doesn't have the $100 dollar one, he might just end up tossing them all including the one with the cash. =D

 

Give him a blockbuster card and marshall gift card

 

CC and BB have online presense that still accept the cards, IIRC...

 

I could get you a bunch of Apple Store or iTunes gift cards of zero value.

FYI - I first envisioned this prank with your brother looking stupid @ 9 of 10 stores trying to buy something with a $0 balance card but if your brother is smart, then he'd call the number on the back of each one to verify the balance prior.

 

You scratch off the number.

Even if he has to stand in line at 10 stores to find one that has money on it is worth it to me.

 

instead of scratching off the phone number (which he could probably look up anyways), you should scratch off the first number of the gift card. this way he can call but cannot provide the info needed to look up the balance (also helps against using the company's online site gc balance check too).

just trying to make your plan fool proof!
