Yes its the new jdm things for those guys, that and the previous "3rd brake light" or rear fog light mod. Saw a bunch of those on the back of hondas driving on 680 one night. I think one of them had a roof rack? LOL

I used to have racks on top of my car because:
1.) I actually ride. It's nice to not have to take off my front wheel and cram it in the back seat with the added risk of getting my greasy chain on my carpet/seats.

2.) The previous owner threw in the roof rack with the car . I was too lazy to take it off, but eventually did. The "pad" marks are still there.

I think it does look cool on a suby. I used to have racks on my IS300 too though, because I took it to tahoe and to the surf with my 9'6" long board.

I left them on at the track on accident actually. I leave them on all the time because I try to surf every morning, and I snowboard every weekend. When I drove up to T-Hill, I forgot the ****ing keyes. Still made it look bad *** though. Have to rep the suby lifestyle.

i kinda want a rack now, but only cuz i vow to put more miles on my ride... both my bike+wrx. i'm just don't want to gouge up my moldings+paint. even worse, i'm afraid of dropping my bike onto the roof or it slipping of the rails during mount+dismount. subaru body panels dent when you sneeze at em! LOL

Just because I saw the post in "New Posts" I have to come back and say again.

I hate ricers and their pretend bike racks that have no use other than to slow down their already pathetically slow slammed Civic or Integra.

that being said... I do think the racks look nice on cars in general..
Especially with some snow caught in the fairing and a scratched up snowboard or muddy bike.

I too think roof racks look good on slightly modified cars. Having that said, I dont' have a roof rack. I have hitch mount instead. I'm one of those guy who probably drive into garage with a bicycle on top.

I started noticing this trend in the spring and it just cracked me up. The explosion of the fixie trend has exploded with the hipster trend and picked up huge with the young crowd.

The same folks in to hella flush stuff and "jdm" styled cars.

Cracks me up. I have some pictures around here rocking a full yakima rack on my 1997 honda civic coupe in like 1999.

trend setter!

And my car was set up the way all these kids wish there's was set up... mad JDM yo! Well it was about to be... I sold it with a RHD conversion ready to go in and a 2.0 liter stroker spoon motor being built in canada. Had a lot of the CTR parts on it already though.

I don't see why it matters really. Trends come and go, human's are a subjective species and generally we all have our own opinions on what's "cool" etc.
