Bible to be taught in school, in Texas.
medicSTi: You are aware that the bible was put together by men, not by god, and that it was edited to fit the times yes? They even went so far as to leave out books by Jesus, and many of the other "biblical" scollars.
2)There is no proof that "Jesus" as in the biblical version, existed at all. The Romans at the time were very very good at keeping records, yet there is NO record of such a person being put to death...Hummm
3)Going forward some, we look in history for any reference to a "John the Baptist" and again, outside of "the bible" we find no records of such a person existing.
4)The first 4 books of "the bible" were directly taken from a Hindu text that predates the bible by almost 2000 years. This book, called the "Upanishads" was the base for all Hindu belief. Now, why were the Jewdao/Christians steeling from the Hindu texts?
Trust me son, I have studied this stuff long and hard, your fighting a battle you can not win. I have enjoyed day long back and forth discussions with many biblical scollars. I don't think one guy on the net is going to say anything I don't have a counter to

It's not about having a counter. It's about having answers. Have you addressed my four yet?
The Bible is God's word to all human beings. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible has been translated for modern language so that we can read it. The original scriptures from antiquity, which we have tons of, help us to confirm the accuracy of the various world languages of the today. The Bible today is extremely accurate with regards to the original circulating copies in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic.
The Romans also "didn't" have record of the census which forced everyone to return to their place of birth when Mary and Joseph had to. It was thought to be an inaccurate account because they would "never" do require such a thing. However, years later it was done again and records have been found to confirm it. There is plenty of proof, the Bible being the best source.
There is much history about the world that is recorded in the Bible which is found written no where else, does that mean it isn't true? Not to someone who believes the Bible and has faith that it is the Word of God.
It is unlikely that any amount of worldly evidence could "convert" someone who didn't want to see God in creation. Only God can win people's hearts, not men.
Links to your Hindu claims please. Plus what makes you believe the Hindus and not the Jews even if it were true?
1) So, you are saying that in affect, "I" am god. Thank you, I always knew that, you may worship me now.
2)why, why would a god, any god, "long" for some creation he/she/it made, to have a relationship with it? All powerful god, BUT...clingy and self absorbed, yea sounds great.
I am not "sinful" because I do not believe or subscribe to the whole savior on a stick thing...and if I am wrong(I am not) and your 'god' exists, I will proudly tell him to 'F.O.' when I die, for all the crap he heaped on the human race, all the death, destruction, murder, hate, injustice...all "gods" creation.

In order to be consistent, one using your "I am not sinful because I don't believe in sin" logic would have to agree that they could not get sick or die if they did not believe in sickness or death...
Does that make logical sense? Just because I can't see my brain doesn't mean that it's not there.
You're implying a false dichotomy. If the answer is not A, then it must be B.
You're implying that if man has no answer to a question, the answer must therefore be the bible. No other option or alternative available. That's just bad reasoning.
I can't imagine why more people don't sign up for Christianity after being threatened with an eternity in hell as the alternative. Any religious people that believe I will spend an eternity in hell for not submitting to that faith are no people I want to spend an eternity with.

I did not say that the Bible is true because man doesn't have the answers to the first four questions. I was merely asking for the answers.
The Bible is true because it is God's Word, not because it's a default when man can't prove an alternate theory. Which means that I was not implying
that if man has no answer to a question, the answer must therefore be the Bible
people need to use theory right!
evolution is a theory since it has been tested again and again and has not been disproved. If it failed to show its truth it would be discredited and not taught. religion is not a theory or a hypothesis since it cannot be tested. You can not test that there is a god(s). So religion is pretty much an idea, in scientific terms. Sorry but this just annoys me when people misuse very simple scientific terms, I'm not trying to be the grammar police.
And please don't try to get me into the argument since i know there is no point. People can believe what they want but just don't try to convert me
Here is a hint of how i feel about religion though :P and yes i know i will be flamed but o well:P

But keep the arguing going, its entertaining
any wanna make a wager on rather or not everyone will come into agreement

Evolution goes against what we see in nature. We loose information over time, we do not gain new information. The fact that information exists at hinders the idea of evolution. Intelligence is the only thing that gives birth to information. No natural process gives birth to information, such as that found in DNA.
The traits that allow some to survive and not others are a result of adaptation, not molecules-to-man evolution.
i.e. Through adaptation, genes are taken out for short haired dogs in cold environments resulting in long haired dogs which once had the trait for long, medium, and short hair, but no longer do because only the long haired genes survived... a loss of genetic information. For molecules to become soup, fish, frogs, monkeys, then man there needs to be a vast gain in genetic information, not a loss.
A scientific fact is something that can be reproduced, tested, and measured. If it can't fulfill those requirements, then it is not fact. Rather, it is philosophy... biological mythology.
It does not matter what some scientists believe is fact, if indeed it is not fact. Just because we believe something, it does not make it so. It is or is not regardless of whether or not we believe in it, otherwise it would only exist if we believed in it and therefore would not exist independently. Therefore if we did not believe it even if it were so, then it would not be.
A scientific fact is

The gain in information is in mutations that occur in DNA or RNA replications. Causing different proteins to be created that then have different functions. Over billions of years, a time man can not fully understand simple organism and become more complex organism. So we do gain "information" through mutations, since new DNA sequences are created that can then code for different proteins.
Adaption is on organism to organism basis. If this adaption is passed on such as in skin color in humans and evolution occurs. I know Black, Asian and White people aren't different species but if each race was isolated for millions upon millions of years new species would occur since new adaptation would arise.

You're right. What does that tell us about their inability to differentiate fact from fiction?

sounds like you've explained religion, not a scientific fact.
i dont see why the bible is more important than the greek mythology, roman mythology, egyptian, etc. which were all religions. even including current religions.
only difference is that bible is more popular than the ones before.

from what i understand, a theory, is something is not something to be proven, but something that scientists try hard to disprove. so far, there hasnt been any breakthroughs that discredits evolution. evolution got a huge bump after we got into genetics, it supports evolution.

gravity was fact shortly after its discovery, but it was also a theory.
the idea of gravity changed after einstein's theory of relativity. gravity still remains as fact even though our understanding of it may change.

You religious nutcases need to shut up.
"The freedom that allows you to practice religion is the same freedom you're stepping on"
Again, tax free money that is #1 in the world to me is the greatest business of all time. I'd love to make a story about someone special, get tax free money from it. Be a pastor and drive a Mercedes around without breaking a sweat.
1) I still don't understand how this stupid dude you call god is all wisdom all knowing and yet he can't control money, he always needs more of it.
2) I love how nice people die, but I guess it was their time to go.
3) I don't believe wasting time praying for a few hours on sunday is even productive at all. To me it's a bunch of sheep, and the church is making the tax free $$. Brilliant people.
4) If you actually take the time spent praying at some god damned temple/citadel/synagogue/church or whatever else you pray at, invest it into the community (that would be a lot of man hours put back into the community) I'm sure 100% that all worlds would be better.
Then the US wouldn't be broke, people would take care of the things like road construction or building creation or what have you without pay. Money could actually be spent on more useful things.
Take maybe 100 people, for 2-3 hrs, that is 200-300 man hrs for one church. Obviously they vary in size, but to me that seems to be the best logic. Rather than listening to some dude in cool drapes spew about a guy that no one has met.
The bible is a STORY that explains things in history. That's why there are many things that are in reference to history, but thrown in with a twist. It's kinda like watching a Hollywood movie made about a book, things are never exactly the way the book has it. Throw in twists here and there, make it more juicy, get more people interested. Sheep sheep sheep some more.
Again, for everyone out there. There were 4-5 major historians during the time Jesus was supposedly alive, yet not one referenced this dude in their history books. They did mention the wars and the cities and the things that they believed was important, but no history reference, or evidence of this guy named Jesus. A STORY, just like King Kong, IronMan, Spiderman, Superman. =)
If any religion shats on any other religion, or shats on those who don't believe then seriously why are you here? Go to a different country and shoot people and fight your own war. I don't understand how you can believe in a book that says other people will burn in hell because they are not apart of this certain religion.

so youve basically justified the right to be a complete asshat, but if you are with god, it's ok. this is not what i imagined god would have wanted.
interesting that you are accusing those of attacks, when your own rhetoric is completely condemning us, who are trying to understand religious fanatics with some semblance of logic and reason. can you try to discuss it without using scripture? as there is no absolute fact in that. not trying to attack, it is what it is: just stories.
but then again, who am i kidding, you yourself said that god has already chosen those to save even before they are born. seems like a cop out if you ask me. i can turn around tomorrow and say "hell yeah, jesus christ i'm christian now" and drop all my moral beliefs and be expected to get a free ticket to heaven. not that i dont "believe", but by your logic, just questioning means a trip to the lake of fire.
please respond with thought and insight, as quoting scripture is as good as me reciting a story my mom told me when i was a kid to win an argument in court.

Lets see...Gandhi, Einstein, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamen Franklin, Plato...the examples go on, all did not believe in the "christian" god, heck Jefferson outright hated Christians. So by your skewed reasoning, they will all be in hell... Sounds like all the good, smart people will be in hell, im down for that. (but as we, the educated know, none of that stuff exists)
