Beware of craigslist! *Story*

Today i heard the most interesting story about a friend of a friend that was trying to sell his Focus on craigslist.

So the owner of the focus gets a call from a buyer off craigslist wanting to take a look at the car. The owner meets up with the buyer and checks out the car. The buyer seemed very interested in the car and wanted to go for a test drive. So the owner gave the keys to the buyer and lets the guy test drive the car alone, Since the buyer's other car was there as well. Turns out the buyer never came back with the focus, so the owner called the cops.

When cops arrived turns out the buyer's car was stolen as well.

*OWNED*

I let a guy test drive my truck before he bought it, I made him leave me the keys to the car he came in as well as his driver's license. He said he didn't want to do that, so i said then you don't test drive the car, but he ended up saying ok. I figured if he left me with his drivers license, he wasn't gonna do something stupid enough to get pulled over for. He ended up buying the truck cash that day.

yea good idea. i've never sold any of my cars on craigslist. but i bought a few on craiglist and alot of the owners just let the buyer just drive the car without the owner.

And if that were to happen, a higher power deemed it so. Do you actually fear being carjacked and killed?

No the higher power deemed this guy to be a idiot and let a total stranger steel his car.

well I dunno to be truthful if I was selling my car and the guy test driving the car ends up stealing it, it's kinda making the sale because insurance will give you money for the car anyways. Thats what happened to me when I was selling my turbo civic it ended up getting stolen but what I thought was a bad thing ended up being a good thing since insurance gave me wayyy more money then I was selling it for.

Since we all have camera phones, take a picture of the person for insurance.
