Anyone have any expirence with bars/pubs in the city in terms of big events like the world cup? Whats your favorite considering the Beer, food, crowd, accessibility, and the actual place itself?

I don't mean to sound like a d*ck, but he answered in the same manner you asked the question....very broadly and without direction as to what you are trying to get out of your experience.
Are you interested in any neighboorhood in particular? Do you need to to be ALL SOCCER bar or are you fine with just a few small screens? Do it need to have a specific team crowds or affiliation? Do you have money to spend and potentially pay cover for bigger matches? Or are you looking to freeload instead? Does it need to pass the girlfriend test? Are you driving? Do you need a valet so no one carves their name into your precious BMW paint? Are you BART-ing or need something within walking distance? So forth and so on...
Otherwise, it is like asking what's everyone's favorite exhaust or coilovers. You will get all sorts of replies, but very few that are specific to your plans.

You are correct, here we watch players that could not be bothered to play for more than ~17 minutes during a 4 hour game! 'MURICA!!! Versus 90 minutes of technical gameplay during a 90 minute broadcast...absolutely horrible!
