I'll be looking in the future. I will check this forum later if need be

I don't work too much with cars... I'm in charge of the graphics dept.
but my other partners are ASA certified techs and they take care of all the parts install and repairs.

I was really happy to see AVS open their Audi Volkswagon shop around the corner from my house, 2Bennett in Davis is just too far.
And while I really like to support LIC and GB when I can, both those shops are far enough away that it becomes a real ordeal to get stuff done on top of the work schedule and all.
Terry G is a cool enough guy, and he does get some of my money, but I'd like to know there's a shop staffed with subie enthusiasts close by, so if you build it- theres a good chance I will be there...

On a practical level... Berkeley can be a shady place... Some people avoid going to the "dimmer" places in Berkeley. Location matters a lot, but good places are expensive. hmm...

As quoted above, I'd like to thank all of your for the support I'm getting. I have a lot of respect for the other shops on here because I've had prior business with them. So as a suby enthusiast myself, I'd like to reopen the shop with a different image. The business proposal is being worked on at this moment. Is there anything you guys would like to see done that's different from other shops around? There's so many possibilities here, but I'd like to find out what you guys need. After all, it is all about the clients we hold that make the business strive. So if you guys have any suggestions, let me know and most likely, it will happen. thanks again!

Where I'm located, it's not shady at all. In fact, there's a 24 hour fitness really close by, Merit College, and is located 2 blocks from Shattuck so everything is really convenient and accessible. We're located a few blocks from U.C.B. So if you have a class, you can just put your car in for work, come back after class and pick it up. Simple and affordable.

haha. that's funny. Maybe, but I'm not taking any business away from them in terms of the San Jose peeps. Hayward is closer to SJO than Berkeley.

To be honest what I'd be looking for is more than a mod shop, I'd want a place well versed and capable of doing all general maintenance and service in a timely manner at reasonable prices.
Like right now I have some sort of intermittent gas leak, especially on cold mornings, but not every cold morning, I get a really strong gas smell in the car that lasts a while.
Albany had the car for 2 days, couldn't replicate my complaint and sent me out on a 2000 mile road trip, I made sure I was packing a fire extinguisher, but I'd really much rather have had the problem fixed.
Dealer shop rates would kill me if they were to disassemble the intercooler and check all of the injectors and gas lines, but LIC is booked for a couple of weeks out and its tough for me to get to Hayward-
So I'm putting up with it for now, but I'd really like to have someone who knows these cars inside and out to spend some time on it and actually find, diagnose and fix my problem, without costing me an arm and a leg- and they might as well change the oil while its up on the rack too.
