Last night I got pulled over right by campus by a campus police officer. He asked me why I had racing slicks (falken azenis) and that it looked like i had done a lot of modifications. Under the hood is basically stock. He had me pop the hood anyway, but didnt really look like he new what he was looking at. I ended up getting pegged for me tint and my "loud exhaust" (flowmaster).
Heads up for late night berkeley travelers with modifications.
PS: anyone have a cop friend who can right-off my tint violation =(

 

campus police can write tickets? Arent they basically rent a cops?

 

campus police in berkeley are real cops, my friend got the same treatment in his s13, and the cop even asked him if he had an sr20 swap... he said no, even though he does and the cop didn't bother looking

 

Damn serious berkeley is getting strict? and campus police? Damn I better be careful going around there since I am there all the time. I have mods that is not berkeley air friendly

 

i got pulled over once by either berkeley police or campus (cant remember) going way too fast (prob 45) up durant through a 15mph construction zone and pulled into my Frats parking garage at the top of Durant. Well.... i got lucky cuz he said he was a Suby enthusiast and his friend race Subys, so he let me off with a warning.

Campus police have always been power trippers, I try to stay away from there just on principle.

FWIW, UC and CSU campus police are full fledged CA law enforcement officers...

fortunately, at CSUH, where i work, i got to know one who drives a focus. he even remembered me during a campus function. and i wasnt even near my car...

 

he's trying to imply that anyone who has a dark tint shouldn't be suprised by getting pulled over because tinting front windows is illegal. He's just trying to combine sarcasm, etc while being an ***.

who was the officer that ticketed you? i got a ticket last year for loud exhaust by szeto.
it sucks getting a ticket on campus, but at least you dont have to waste your time going to court.

 

A lot of schools are upgrading their security to Level 1 peace officers, I know Ohio State, Ohio U, and my school Capital U. all have real cops now.
