as far as i can remember e-40 has been a bit mainstream. i'm from so.cal and i heard of him back in the day. they use to play some Bay cuts in LA as well. back in '93 is when the Bay was bumpin in LA the most. i remember they use to play e-40, digital underground, souls of mischief, too $hort, rappin' 4 tay, Luniz etc. but Pac held it down for the bay the most. now all i hear about is e.40 down here. everytime i go up to the bay i hear Bay cuts that i never hear down here.

true dat true dat, e-40 is pretty much mainstream but he still has love for the bay and reps it and thats why he is the ambassador of the bay

I wouldn't worry about it. There's always been BA slang and hip hop, and there always will be. Even the Legends still play a ton of local shows up here even though they 'moved' to LA.

yea the dirty south must be pissed but i do love to throw them bows and lean wit it rock wit it(my ringtone) though. there is always gonna b pros and cons with everything, yea it would be tight to rep the bay to the world and showem how we do but then when it gets taken over it will suck so... yea.

and yea why is it a lot of bay rappers move to LA or ATL?

There was a funny article titled "Hyphy" in Rolling Stone magazine a few months ago. They interviewed Turf Talk.

speaking of "Hyphy", BET's Da Bassment had a special a few weeks ago called "Bay Wednesday". they had Too $hort on there as a guest and he exploited the word Hyphy nation wide. altho i don't see that word leaving the bay but u can thank E40 for a lot of the terms being used nowadays.

when the uc davis college year first began, all the people from socal were so shocked that we had so many exclusive bay area songs. for example, when they went to their first norcal party and heard the song "bang it" they loved the song, and were surprised to find out that it had already been out for a year. bay area rappers have remained exclusive to us for long enough so that we have a feeling inside that they originated from us. its okay to branch out now imo.
