Bell warehouse in Oakland, they will set you up and as a bonus you get to see the crazy cat that lives there.

I got mine from Frey before they moved to Fremont. They were helpful, but of course I'm sure I paid more than I would have if I ordered it. It was very important for me to try the helmet on, because while you may know what size your head is, different helmets have different shapes and eyeports.

I'd be leary of ordering one off the net w/out trying it on first. With helmets it's more than just size. Different brands fit differently. It's like buying a car w/out ever test driving it.

^^^^ Very true. When I was buying a helmet, I tried on about 10 helmets. I narrowed it down to 2 helmets. In one helmet, i was a XS, in the other I was a M.

I worried about that too. But the prices at local stores are too high so I went by my hat size and ordered one and it fits perfect.

Why? The 2000s should still be good for another 5 years, and they cost about half as much.

I had this debate with some friends and if you can get a 2000 helmet for a resonable cost and use if for 5 years, then why not. IMO though I would probably get a 2005 helmet if I were in the market for a new one. My current helmet is SA2000.
