actually, this strategy is wrong.

remember, with a george a romero zombie, you need a head shot.

with a shotgun with 00, you're gonna need to get up close and personal with that.

i say, a 22LR with lots and lots of rounds...

my wife loves guns, you wouldnt think it looking at her.

i dont know **** about guns, except how to fire the little tiny 9mm she has in the biometric safe by the bed incase some shiz goes down.

she lets me shoot some of them, but i couldnt tell you one from another.

but with our tax return she wants a glock 17 with something something vented bore, something about it having less recoil something.

i got this one great picture of her in some "unmentionables" double fisting it (the guns that is)

I think she wants the Glock 17c - the "c" stands for compensated, meaning both the barrel and slide have cutouts which help vent the gases thereby reducing recoil.

Here is a picture of a standard G17 without compensator:

Here is a picture of the G17 - notice the top of the slide, it's got 2 cutouts:

While the compensated version sounds nice in theory, I think that the general consensus is that you generally don't want ports/compensators on pistols for a variety of reasons. First, it makes the gun louder - much louder in some instances. Second, the vented gases are bright - imagine fire shooting out of the top of your gun. Then, imagine having to shoot it at night, say, in a dark room against an intruder. You will most likely be blinded by your own gun - not very smart. Third, it's just one more part of the gun that can get gummed up with crud and that you'll have to clean.

I'd suggest getting the standard G17, or hell, even a G34 (the 5" 9mm version) instead. The 9mm is a very controllable round, and the Glock 17/19/26/34 (all 9mm versions, in different sizes) platforms are also very easy to control. There is no need to add extra recoil-reducing features that have more drawbacks than benefits, IMO. Also, the standard Glock 17 will be easier to find, and probably cheaper than the harder to find compensated counterpart.

I wouldn't get the compensated model... It barely reduces recoil, fouls your barrel to all hell, and blinds the HELL out of you from the flash that is released on top of the slide, so if you're gonna shoot someone at night, you better kill him with that first shot cuz you're gonna be blind when it comes to a second shot!

$575 for a Glock is nuts. I remember back when they were like $450 brand new.
