battery relocation?

battery relocation?

Anyone know where I can get a cheap battery relocation kit?

i'm not sure what you consider cheap, but I got mine from summit racing.

I don't know of any cheap kits other than the ones from summit/jegs. Also, I recall them using chintzy wire.

For DIY use 2/0 welding wire, appropriate lug terminals, and any battery box. Run the ground to the b pillar bulkhead area and get it to bare metal, and run the power to the starter terminal lug. Use rivets and addell clamps to secure the wire.

If you ever plan on running at the strip, you'll need an externally accessible cutoff switch with a rear mounted battery. This will fry the ECU unless there's a relay setup to operate a cutoff solenoid on the alternator feed line when battery power is interrupted.

Also, since the battery is inside the car now, you'll probably want to use a sealed deal like the odyssey or optima. Regular batteries will require a sealed box per NHRA rules.

I'd suggest just using a smaller odyssey deal from summit and not relocating.

i used welding cable 1/0 and just wired anyway you like it to a summit racing enclosed box so its legal in all sorts of racing

Local welding supply house. I bought cheap 1/0 cable for my winching needs there vs at the time , going with the car audio stuff which was 2-3 times the prices per foot...
