one show i watch showing them firing an M4 next to a paper target. just the air coming out of muzzle SIDEWAYS was enough to rip or blow a big chuck of paper.
SUREFIRE then attached one of their supressor and shot the same rifle, same way. paper target was unripped.
you're saying, what does do for me?
not much. but if you were part of an entry team, breaching a room and people starts shooting, you dont want that muzzle blast close to you...
and yes, they are not COMPLETELY silenced. it's a hollywood thing. hence the term SUPRESSOR...

A suppressor on an M4 carbine reduces the sound level down to that of an unsuppressed .22lr.
Not only that but the muzzle flash is almost completely eliminated with a suppressor installed. See for yourself:

BTW can anyone recommend a blog or two to follow cool gun/tank/military news? I'd like to base my research for some new -fi technology/design stuffs in real technology.
