Just get the tint removed, have SFPD/Sheriff/CHP sign off on it (one of them can easily be found at or about 850 Bryant Street in SF), send in the proof & payment and then get the tint put back on.
Seriously maybe just try going to the P.D. and see if you can get one of them to right it off. My gf did that once when she got a ticket for it and the cop laughed said his windows were tinted and wrote it off. Its worth a shot.Then atleast its a $10 filing fee.

Yeah its just a roll of the dice to ask a cop to "look the other way" and sign off on an "illegal tint" without you having done anything to rectify the situation. Like I said, I just got the tint taken off for $40, signed off & paid the $10 admin fee.

35% in the front is pretty dark mate
i could tint a 50% since is front windshield. the only reason i would tint my front is block the UV thats all. i want to be able to see things than looks good

To the OP, 35% is pretty dark for the fronts especially when all of the other windows are 20%. The darker rears make the 35% on the front even more noticeable by making them look even darker.
