Denying the enemy of fuel is a valid argument, however there's absolutely no guarantee that he was going to hit the tanker from that distance with the noob-tube. Professionalism? I think not.

You mention professionalism...how about the fact that they are professional soldiers, in an all volunteer army, who are trained to be responsible for every round they fire? If our service men and women, who all of our tax dollars support with training and equipment, etc, can't do what all of our tax dollars pay to train them to do...then what's the point in the first place? He damn well better be able to hit it if he is within the given weapon system's range...and in point of fact he did. Plus, I highly doubt these guys were just rollin around in the desert looking for stuff to blow up.
Also since we're on tax dollars here, you could take into account the cost of a couple M203 rounds that were already on site, that could achieve the desired outcome VS whatever explosives EOD typically uses to destroy weapons caches/IED's, etc. Plus there's the question of whether EOD was even available or not to come dispose of said tanker properly at that given time, and if not, how much would it cost to get the necessary manpower and supplies out there to dispose of the tanker in a "professional" manor. If you think about it...it's probably rural Iraq judging from the extremely flat terrain, where basically everything is in the middle of nowhere, can't just dash over to Walmart or Autozone for whatever you need whenever you need...logistics often determine how situations like this play out...you do what you can with what you have out there.
Besides, you're gonna sit there and tell me you wouldn't love to do that yourself??

It's my tax money too, and I'm going to allow it.
Paying taxes does not make you, or anyone else, an expert in their field of work.
.... or you can go ahead and be angry at their waste of tax dollars for doing a job that you didn't care to volunteer for.

Right. But he did make the shot, hit the intended target and achieved the desired end result. So your hypothetical argument of "what if" he didn't hit the tanker is now completely moot. You should stay in your lane.

You just crossed over into my lane by assuming that the "intended target" was deemed to be destroyed.

You do not have to be in the military in order to read about proper military tactics. Nor do you have to be a genius when you see guys with grenade launchers blowing stuff up for fun.

I'm busting your ***** because you're poo-pooing those guys for launching a grenading and blowing something up (something they obviously had permission to do otherwise there would be hell too pay).
Out of the billions of dollars spent in the defense budget each year, you chose to criticize the use of one grenade. Seems like you were just being snide for the sake of it.

LOL. So are you trying to say that you're an authority on military tactics and SOP after you did some reading? Did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night too?
