Was the first car i ever fell in love with. I was 12 saw a red one blow by my grandma's car on the M5 in england. Thought it was gangster before i reached the photo with the hood up. that is dangerous, would be so much fun. wonder how far the hood is stretched for that supercharged beast

I remember reading about one in a few years back in Sport Compact Car, it had a B18C5, no charger though. Anyways, the guy who owned it lived near the Aston Martin proving grounds and he claims even without the charger he'd regularly run new DB7s off the road on their way back to the factory. Only catch for me would be the lack of a brake booster, though I'd assume stopping a 1500 lb car isn't as hard as one would imagine. I'm assuming this particular mini still retains the K20 tranny?

The reason I got into rallying is because my father had one when I was a kid living in Germany... I remember he had a number plate on the sides of the doors and a rally event sticker on the hood... A red one. I have a pic but no scanner. Anyway, he'd take me to rallys and well, that is that.

I'd love to have one... Imagine me, 6'6.5 coming out of a mini... Like that episode of the Simpsons where that tall *** guy was driving that beetle and Nelson laughed at him, then the dude goes after Nelson.

that would be amazing. met an owner at a car show who was 6'3 and said it wasnt a horribly uncomfortable ride, little tight in and out he said.

i also remember the Sport Compact Car article. He stretched the hood 2 inches to get it to fit and also stated that 1st gear was only good for lighting it up and didn't get reasonable traction until 2nd. The fiberglass hood is money. Even with how small the car is, with that kind of power brakes would be an intelligent idea

There is a badass old mini that always cleans up the 2WD Open class in Rally-X. The guy that drives it isn't exactly short either. I forget if he is taller then me or not though (I'm 6')

I've seen those with B18c1 and c5's. Amazing handling little monsters. There's a local kid around here with a new one with a roll cage, coil overs and some goodies. Thing handles like crazy. I see him on a regular basis.... flat flat flat in the corners. And not bouncy. Set up really well.

Well, I will be selling mine later this year but it's nowhere near that badass. Honestly for what you want to do with it, I would recommend buying either one of those new repro body shells or finding a basket case somewhere...

BTW - if you ever have a chance to buy one of these - DO IT. They are freaking amazing. Even close to stock, it's like a go-kart for the street.
