Yes, no, depends.

Early 2004 and older are "innie " axles.
Late 2004 and newer are "outie" axles.

Im pretty sure those look like mine

the axle fits over the spline coming from the tranny and has a pin holding them together.

A little off topic, but I have a 95 impreza wagon L AWD and need a pair of front axles. Anyone know what years will work for me?

You can buy them new online for like ~$60/ea and it includes everything you need to replace the old axle. I had to do my driver's front the other week and it was a breeze.

Those are the older style or "innies" as I refer to them.

Sweet! Did you buy them from a Subaru dealer? I've gotten some great deals on OEM Subaru parts from out of state dealers.

Nah, more like "e-bay" special. A few people that I know and trust had used them, and told me they looked/felt and worked identical to the OEM axle assembly, so I ordered one. Definitely a worthwhile $60-70 considering it is ready to go out of the box. Includes new pin and a shiny new axle nut as well. Good times.
