Auto-X: SFR Round 11 - 07-13-08
Broke, alas 
My front struts both had some damage on the thread into the top nut from once being fitted to camber plates with the wrong sleeves. They had seemed OK but going over a nasty pavement seam coming onto 580 in Hayward the front right popped out. Screwed the thread worse, probably damaged the strut in other ways and since they had 40K I'm just replacing both fronts with new inserts.
Fingers crossed I can get the old inserts out, and that nothing else down there got tweaked in the mishap. It all looks OK but I won't be sure until it's back together and on the alignment rack.

Well I was hoping to have Chris from auto-x school co-drive my car. Free instruction for me and seat time in a WRX for him == profit. Of course the car will need all for wheels for that to work out, but let's not get hung up on details.

No entrance fee to watch. You should just come out and run. Run whatever you got. As long as it is a car in good running order.
