Auto-x schedule for Santa Rosa in Sonoma County

ESCA’S AUTOCROSS DATES FOR 2003
SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 2003
SUNDAY, MAY 11, 2003
SUNDAY, JUN 15, 2003
SUNDAY, JULY 20, 2003
SUNDAY, AUGUST 17, 2003
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2003
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2003

Cost: $25.00 per driver (possibly subject to change. also last year, a associate membership was required, once a year charge of $28, nothing mentioned this year. )
Location: backside of Sonoma County Airport
Start: Setup 8:00 AM, run 10:00 AM (rumor of extra lap for people that arrive by 8am and help w/setup).

This is still a "For Fun" event. AFAIK, there are no trophies.

"A valid driver’s license is needed. Just a reminder, participants are responsible for their cars to be in safe running order, that means passing a technical inspection. We really need all participants to help; to help make the events run efficiently, safely, and to help fill worker positions, etc."

UPDATE ON ESCA WEB PAGE
The ESCA WEB PAGE has needed a new home. It has kindly
been sponsored by HAZ at Sonic.net. Unfortunately, HAZ was
no longer able to continue its sponsorship. Kevan Jurin is in
process of securing a sponsorship from his place of business. If
you’re interested in working on the web page please contact:
Jeffery Carter at (707) 315-3235 <yodaisgod@yahoo.com> or
Kevan Jurin at (707) 591-9971 <kevanjurin@yahoo.com>

I have about a years worth of the ESCA newsletters, I was going to post to my earthlink account, unfortunatly, I have to use their total access 2003 to upload via ftp. These are pdf files that range in size from 150kb to 1.1mb. I intended to post a link to the ftp directory here, so you could download and read them.

The biggest problem, other than speed exhibitions threatening to close down auto-x for several more years (again), is the lack of cone workers. Get 50 cars showing up, over 20 people per run, and about 10 people working the course.
There are a few places nearby to eat, and most do take off for lunch. However the rear lot of the airport is not so bad to hang out and eat lunch (not much trees though).

FYI: 2 way to get there from 101. Airport address is 2200 Airport Blvd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. No access to back area from Airport blvd. Have to go around.
1: West on River road from 101. Right On Slusser Road. Right on Windsor Road. Straight into the gate.
2: West on Shiloh. Left at the end (Shiloh Cemetery) onto Windsor. Stay on Windsor as it goes right then left. Past Silk, instead of following road right, make left into gate.
