longest I was without sleep was a month and a half then I had pneumonia for 4 months. Having the health problems I have I tend to be up a lot. And no wasn't on anything to stay awake I have major nerve damage and a crushed spine that keeps me awake and also perm kidney damage as well from car accident so I am a big ball of a mess. Depression doesn't help either..

Um, the record for longest without sleep is 11 days. I'm just sayin...

 

ive gone like 42 hrs just off soda when i was like 13 lol...

 

If I missed a night of sleep, I was usually out my 3 or 4 the next day.

 

I was in a poker tourney at my house like 5 yrs ago and we played for like 16hrs straight... then went out to get some breakfast and came back to finish playing for another hour or two.. So thata was prolly a 30 something stretch

 

dont ever make fun of sewing again.

 

So i finally fell asleep last night at like 10, I slept till 12 and have been up since then. I went for another bike ride this morning and am contemplating a run. i have been caffeine free this whole time, so no assistance there. I tried drinking to see if that would make me drowsy but it didnt. I was drunk twice and sobered up and still nothing. i really dont know what else to do.

 

as for the sewing, i can sew. but i find it boring so that is why i say i need a better hobby, something that keeps my interest.

 

I haven't read the whole thread, but have you tried sleeping aids besides exercise and booze?

 

My back was sore so i took some tylenol pm, but thats about it. i dont like to take pills in general.

 

 

Many people have told me stress from not working keeps the unemployed awake. I tried taking a couple shots a night to night time bike rides. NyQuil works the best! 2 shots of that on a night you cant sleep and your out like a light bulb.
